Walk Around

First, you’ll want to walk around the exterior of your house, inspecting your roof from the ground. While you do this, pay close attention to any signs of damage, sagging, or aging. Take notes of any areas that may be of concern.

Identify Area for Water Damage

Look for areas where moss, algae, and piles of leaves are. These areas are known for causing leaks and costly damages.

Inspect Shingles

While you are inspecting your roof, pay close attention to any buckling or curling shingles. Hot air from your attic can cause your shingles to buckle or curl, leaving your roof at greater risk for water damage in the future.

You should also keep an eye out for any damaged or missing shingles. The good thing about roof inspections is that they help you catch problems like these when they are minor and can help you save money on costly repairs in the future.

Finally, look for any granule loss on your shingles. Granule loss indicates that your shingles are old or have been affected by severe weather, and no longer are protecting your home from more severe weather.

Clean Gutters

Check Your Attic
